Short-Run Catalogs (1sheets~) →There's no one-size-fits-all answer — it depends on your use case. For writing or text-heavy content, woodfree paper works well. For image-driven catalogs, matte coated or gloss coated paper is a better fit.
There's no right answer. If you want to emphasize a premium feel, foil or spot UV fits well; for a clean look, laminate alone is enough. Matte laminate has a calm, refined texture, while gloss laminate brings out vivid, sharp colors. Choose based on your design intent.
Perfect binding starts at 12 pages, in multiples of 4. The spine needs enough thickness for the glue to bind properly, which is why there's a minimum.
Ajiro binding makes slits along the spine so the adhesive penetrates deeper. Compared to regular perfect binding, pages hold together better and the book lies flatter when open. It's the default for forpli's perfect-bound catalogs.
Spine printing is available once the spine is at least 5mm thick. Below that, registration shifts can throw the text off-center, so we don't recommend it. Place titles and logos along the spine's center and leave a 2mm buffer at each edge.
Neither is universally better. Matte laminate looks calm and substantial, while gloss laminate looks vivid and bold. Choose what fits your brand tone. The trade-offs: matte shows fingerprints, and gloss shows scratches.
